FESTIVAL GUIDELINES – PLEASE READ AND SIGN

Registration

  • The event will take place on Saturday, August 23rd, from 12 PM – 9 PM, and Sunday, August 24th, from 12 PM – 6 PM at Reading Liederkranz, 143 Spook Ln, Reading, PA 19606.
  • The event is rain or shine. The event fees are non-refundable unless your application is rejected, in which case the fee will be refunded.
  • Premium spaces are reserved for sponsors. Vendors will be assigned space on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the order in which completed applications and payments are received.
  • Giving out free food or drink is not permitted, as it takes away sales from vendors.
  • We reserve the right to communicate further details via email if necessary.

Set up & tear down

  • Do not block other vendors’ areas while setting up. Vendors’ vehicles, after unloading, must be parked in the designated parking area.
  • Set-up is between 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM.
  • Absolutely NO vehicles are allowed in the festival area between 12 PM and 9 PM on August 23rd, and between 12 PM and 6 PM on August 24th. If you arrive after 12 PM for set-up, you cannot participate, and your fee will be forfeited.
  • No sales may begin before 12 PM or after 9 PM on August 23rd, and after 6 PM on August 24th. All participants must remain until 9 PM on August 23rd, and 6 PM on August 24th. If you are selling take-home food and run out, you may clean up your designated area; however, you may not bring your vehicle for loading until 9 PM on August 23rd, and 6 PM on August 24th.
  • Vendors may set up a canopy if desired. All canopies must be secured with sandbags or another object to prevent them from being lifted by the wind. You may not place any holes into the macadam.
  • Please be courteous to your fellow vendors by setting up within the area designated for you.

Trash disposal

  • You are responsible for keeping your area free from trash, and to dispose of your own trash at provided trash cans during the Festival and before leaving the event site.
  • Volunteers will be monitoring trash removal and vendors will be assessed a fine of up to $100 if trash is left behind.
  • Vendors who do not properly dispose of their trash will not be invited to participate in future festivals.

Other guidelines

  • All prices must be posted!
  • Please remember to bring all necessary supplies. Do not forget such items as tables and table covers, signs, cash box, extra change and small bills, etc., as the festival committee does not have access to change.
  • If you use electric, all exposed cords must be covered by duct tape to prevent a tripping hazard. Please do not put cords or any other obstacles in the pedestrian walking areas.
  • If you owe commission from sales, the funds must be paid on the day of the festival to our Cashier located at Romanian Community Center canopy. If we do not receive your commission payment on the day of the festival, the Romanian Community Center reserves the right to charge a $100 penalty. In addition, for each day that your payment is late, a fee of $10 per day will be assessed. If there is any reason to believe that you are not being honest with your sales figures and commissions, you will not be invited to return in subsequent years.
